When
Monday
November 13, 2017
5:00 – 7:00 pm
Since the cook-off began, over $160,000 has been donated to children's charities. The event will benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank's Kids in Need program and because of the generosity of our donors, 100% of every dollar raised will be contributed to the Food Bank. Chili for the Children will return to Buckhead's acclaimed 103 West on Monday, November 13, 2016 from 5-7:00 pm and it is expected to sell out. Guests will be invited to taste, vote and enjoy the auctions and raffles. Because the annual event is held each year only a few weeks before the start of the holiday season, our goal is to fill the auction with amazing experiences and new, award-winning toys and products for children and families.
Your contribution will support Kids in Need.
During the school year, the Atlanta Community Food Bank partners with low-income schools to bring out pre-made boxes of nutritious groceries families can bring home to help make ends meet. At each pantry, nearly 200 children are served, at a rough cost of $3,000 per distribution, including the purchase of healthy food, preparation, and transportation. The School Mobile Pantry Program helps to address a growing need of many children in our school systems--having food when they go home each day. Schools find it difficult to meet this growing need due to lack of space to provide their own pantries and not having the capacity to staff and manage a pantry. The Food Bank is beginning to bridge this gap in services to ensure that students facing food insecurity are able to access food to help them thrive in school. School mobile pantries are a way to reach families and children who are food insecure. With help from events like Chili for the Children, the Atlanta Community Food Bank's School Mobile Food Pantry has expanded immensely to help meet the need of hungry children and their families.
Your contribution to Chili for the Children will support the Food Bank's BOLD GOAL: By 2025, all hungry people in their service area will have access to the nutritious meals they need when they need them.
Support from events like Chili for the Children help the Food Bank reach its strategic growth targets by significantly transforming their childhood hunger programs. With the contributions from Chili for the Children in 2016, the Food Bank was able to better serve the 1 in 4 food insecure children and a total of 755,000 people in its 29 county service area- providing nearly 58 million meals to Georgians!
Your contribution of $1 equals 4 meals for someone in need.
